Pursuant to the Act on Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Science (OG 151/22) the Agency for Science and Higher Education conducts the procedure of initial accredditation of research institutes.
The initial accreditation of a research institute is conducted in case of:
- the establishment of a research institute
- a change in the status of the research institute.
The procedure of initial accreditation of an institute is initiated when an institute files an application for the issuance of a licence to operate . The application is submitted to the Agency on a standardized form, and in accordance with the instructions provided by the Agency.
The procedure determines whether a research institute meets the criteria for initial accreditation of a research institute.
