Pursuant to the Act on Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Science (OG 151/22) the Agency for Science and Higher Education conducts the procedures of thematic evaluation of higher education institutions.
At the session held on 16 December 2022, the Croatian Parliament passed the Act on Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Science (OG 151/22), which regulates internal quality assurance and quality enhancement of higher education institutions and research institutes, external quality assessment of higher education institutions and research institutes, and the organisational structure and competences of the Agency for Science and Higher Education.
The new Act (OG 151/22) replaced the Act on Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education (OG 45/2009) on 30 December 2022, so the latter is no longer in force.
Pursuant to the Act on Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Science (OG 151/22) the Agency for Science and Higher Education conducts ex officio thematic evaluation procedures based on a decision taken by the Accreditation Council of the Agency or a minister’s reasoned proposal.
Thematic evaluations evaluate similar evaluation subjects or areas of activity of one or more similar evaluation subjects.
The thematic evaluation procedure will be regulated by a general act of the Agency for Science and Higher Education. This document will be available on the Agency website and higher education institutions will be informed of this in due time.
