General Data Protection Regulation (SL EU L119) or GDPR is a regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data. Said regulation entered into force on 25 May 2018 and it directly applies in all EU Member States. Personal data is collected for the purpose of performance of legal obligations of the Agency for Science and Higher Education, for purposes of important reasons of public interest.
We process personal data in a lawful, fair and transparent manner, and we process only appropriate and relevant data exclusively for special, explicitly defined and legal purposes. In accordance with GDPR, the Agency for Science and Higher Education protects the data against unlawful or unauthorized processing, by applying appropriate technical and organizational protection measures.
RIGHTS OF DATA SUBJECTS: Right to withdraw consent, right to access one’s personal data, right to have data rectified, erased or have processing of personal data restricted, right to transfer data, right to lodge a complaint with the Agency for Personal Data Protection.

Data Protection Officer
Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data directly applies in the Republic of Croatia as of 25 May 2018.
The Regulation determines the rights of natural persons, as well as the obligations of entities that process personal data, i.e. the controller and processor. Some of the obligations of the entities are processing of personal data if a natural person has given consent or for the performance of tasks based on other legal regulations, processing of data under the principles of processing stated in the Regulation, information provided by legal entity to the natural person prior to the processing of their personal data and setting up records on processing personal data.
GDPR also defines the obligations of the data protection officer appointed by controller which informs in writing the Agency for Personal Data Protection on the appointment of the
data protection officer. Pursuant to Article 37 of the General Data Protection Regulation (SL EU L119), director of the Agency for Science and Higher Education, as controller, appointed the data protection officer:
