The Agency for Science and Higher Education (ASHE) hosted representatives of quality assurance agencies in higher education from the Western Balkans (WB6) on 24 – 25 April 2025. The event was organized by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) in collaboration with the Education Reform Initiative of South Eastern Europe.

The two-day workshop titled “Strengthening QA Agencies in the Western Balkans: Tools, Compliance & Readiness for ENQA” provided an opportunity for representatives of the gathered agencies to exchange experiences regarding the implementation of ESG (Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area) in their respective countries, as well as to strengthen capacities and align legal frameworks in order to be well-prepared for evaluation by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA).

At the beginning of the workshop, the attendees were greeted by Ulpiana Lama (Regional Cooperation Council), Prof. Danijela Horvatek Tomić, PhD (Director of the Agency for Science and Higher Education), and Tina Šarić (ERI SEE).

The Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) is a comprehensive framework for cooperation that includes RCC participants from South Eastern Europe as well as members of the international community on topics important to South Eastern Europe, with the goal of promoting and advancing the region’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
