The Forum of Member States of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA Members’ Forum), which was also attended by the Director of the Agency for Science and Higher Education, Prof. Danijela Horvatek Tomić, PhD, was held from 9 to 11 April 2025, in Paphos, Cyprus.
This year’s forum was organized in cooperation with the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (CYQAA), and the theme was “Sustainability in Quality Assurance.”
Plenary sessions highlighted various dimensions of sustainability in higher education, focusing on how higher education institutions integrate environmental, social, and economic sustainability into education, research, and community engagement. Strategies and actions undertaken by universities to promote sustainable practices and drive positive change were presented. The forum also addressed the competencies of staff in quality assurance agencies and showcased initiatives by agencies such as NOKUT and QAA aimed at providing professional development and improving the work environment for staff.
Participants received the latest updates on the development of ENQA’s professional competency framework.
This year’s forum also focused on the revision of the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG 2015) and ENQA’s new strategy for the period 2026–2030.
