Central Applications Office
Central Applications Office (SPU) is the national center for applications to study programmes, i.e. higher education institutions in the Republic of Croatia.
Following adoption of the Act on Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education, SPU was established at the Agency for Science and Higher Education in May 2009 in order to centralise all activities related to applications to study programmes and all conditions related to enrolment to higher education institutions.
The office performs a series of activities which are carried out during the months of preparations prior to applications to higher education institutions. One of the most important is to efficiently carry out central processing of applications. The intention is to enable equal treatment of all candidates and lower application costs.
The whole process is carried out via National IT system for applications to higher education institutions (NISpVU) which is used for candidates to apply at selected study programmes which also determined state school leaving exams which have to passed. The system can be accessed via web address www.postani-student.hr which is active from 2st June 2009.
