{"id":30317,"date":"2025-12-03T15:09:13","date_gmt":"2025-12-03T14:09:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.azvo.hr\/?p=30317"},"modified":"2026-03-04T15:36:30","modified_gmt":"2026-03-04T14:36:30","slug":"president-of-croatia-meets-azvo-leadership-on-the-occasion-of-the-20th-anniversary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azvo.hr\/en\/2025\/12\/03\/president-of-croatia-meets-azvo-leadership-on-the-occasion-of-the-20th-anniversary\/","title":{"rendered":"President of Croatia Meets ASHE Leadership on the Occasion of the 20th Anniversary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-10 text-base leading-normal\">\n  \n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-lead-text mb-40 lg:mb-60 lg:-mt-[8rem]\">\n  <p class=\"font-serif text-xl sm:text-2xl leading-normal\">On December 3, 2025, the President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanovi\u0107, held a meeting with the leadership of the Agency for Science and Higher Education (ASHE) to mark the 20th anniversary of the Agency, a key national institution responsible for quality assurance in higher education and science.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"mb-10 text-base leading-normal\">\n  \nASHE Director Prof. Danijela Horvatek Tomi\u0107 presented to the President the scope and role of the Agency, which, as an independent, public, and internationally recognized institution, is responsible for ensuring quality in the science and higher education system in Croatia. This includes conducting external evaluations of universities, study programs, and research institutes; recognition and evaluation of foreign higher education qualifications; acquiring and expanding knowledge and research on the quality assurance system in higher education, scientific, and artistic activities in Croatia; providing training; collecting and processing data on higher education, scientific and artistic activities; and providing information on admission requirements and consolidating data on applicants\u2019 eligibility for higher education institutions.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"mb-10 text-base leading-normal\">\n  \n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"mb-10 text-base leading-normal\">\n  \nThe meeting also addressed the current state of Croatian higher education, as well as challenges and priorities for further strengthening the quality assurance system.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"mb-10 text-base leading-normal\">\n  \n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"mb-10 text-base leading-normal\">\n  \nIn addition to Director Prof. Horvatek Tomi\u0107, the ASHE delegation included Deputy Director Dr. Irena Petru\u0161i\u0107 and Assistant Directors Dr. Mia \u0110iki\u0107 and Marina Grubi\u0161i\u0107.
