Management Board of the Agency for Science and Higher Education
Management Board is a body that governs the Agency for Science and Higher Education within rights and responsibilities stipulated by the Institutions Act, Agency's Statute and other legal acts.
Management Board comprises 9 members.
Two members are appointed from each of the two national councils, following the suggestion of the National Council for Science and the National Council for Higher Education. One student representative is appointed at the suggestion of students unions in the Republic of Croatia.
Three members and the president of the Management Board are appointed at the suggestion of the Minister of Science, Education and Sports. One of the appointed members has to be a scientist of international renown.
At its meetings, the Management Board reaches decisions by a majority vote (5 votes).
Management Board effectively discusses and reaches decisions when there are at least 5 members present at meetings.
Management Board meetings are held at least 3 times a year. An obligatory meeting is held for consideration of the financial plan, i.e. Agency's annual budget, and others at the request of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, Minister of of Science, Education and Sports, or the director of the Agency.
Management Board passes the annual plan of activities, which outlines all the activities of the Agency for the upcoming year. Management Board also supervises the implementation and realization of the programme, puts forth the recommendation for the annual budget of the Agency, defines the financial plan and submits the final financial report.
