Council for Financing Scientific Activity and Higher Education

Council for Financing Scientific Activity and Higher Education, in line with the Articles 14 and 108, Subsection 1 of the Act on Scientific Activity and Higher Education (Official Gazette No. 123/03, 198/03 and 105/04), is the expert body of the National Council for Science and National Council for Higher Education.

The Council is composed of 15 members: 3 representatives of research institutes, 6 representatives of universities, 2 representatives of polytechnics, 2 union representatives and 2 members appointed by the competent minister.

The members are appointed to a four-year term by the majority vote of both the National Council for Science and National Council for Higher Education upon the proposal by the Rectors’ Conference, Council of Polytechnics and Colleges, public research institutes, universities, polytechnics, colleges, trade unions and the competent ministry.

The Council proposes the criteria for budgetary financing of scientific activity and higher education to the National Council for Science and National Council for Higher Education.
